Hello and welcome! Abundant Life Spiritual Center is a dynamic spiritual community with a focus on awakening those who walk through our doors to the divine within and inspiring them to live confidently, passionately and powerfully. Together we learn how to Live Fearlessly and Love Outrageously because life is meant to be filled with joy and lived with ease as a positive experience, not a struggle. We named ourselves Abundant Life because we know that the Abundant Life - a life of wholeness and authentic self-expression, purpose, creativity and love - is the divine birthright of everyone and we want to support your living it.

Enhance your experience this year by attending our spiritual Christmas Eve service on Wednesday, December 24 at 5 pm. The traditional Christmas story will be told through a metaphysical lens with music that will move your soul. No matter your religious background, the symbols and meaning of this story will come alive in a personal way. As in past years, this service will be held in the beautiful sanctuary of First Church Christ Scientist, 155 Deerfield Road in Deerfield. We rent this space so that we can conclude with our traditional candle lighting ceremony as we experience the Presence of Divine Love awakening in the world and within us.
Our annual Burning Bowl service will take place during our Sunday Service on January 4, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Patty Turner Center. During this special service we take the opportunity to let go of thoughts and patterns which no longer serve us, releasing them to the flame of the burning bowl. This powerful tradition begins the process of changing our subconscious mind to support our intentions for the New Year.
Our January/February series will be "A Closer Walk With God" using the book of the same name by Rev. Jim Rosemergy.
Grammy-nominated Matthew Santos returns to us as a guest musician on Sundays, December 7 & 21, 2014. Santos is a remarkable rock/folk artist with a large following. While he is widely known for his musical collaboration with Lupe Fiasco on the song Superstar, his original music penetrates the soul.
Santos blessed us during our November, 2013 “Wisdom of the Beatles Series: Part 4 - The Long and Winding Road of Life,” when he was a guest musician along with drummer Rich Stitzel and bass player Graham Czach. We are grateful that he returns to us for our Christmas season again this year. Take a listen to some of his music here:

Stop. Breathe. Advent is a season of preparation, of expectancy. Are you taking it in? Or are you finding yourself goal-oriented during this season and missing the holy experience entirely? There can be so much to do – shopping, gift exchanges, teacher gifts, office parties, family gatherings, and church too!
This is a deeply meaningful season. During advent, we prepare ourselves to celebrate the birth of the historical Jesus and the living Christ within. But our egos love this ‘to do list’ stuff. When we get lost in all the stuff we have to do, we cannot hear the message that the angel Gabriel has for us: “You are highly favored!”
During our regular Sunday service on December 28, we will have a “Fireside Chat” led by Rev. Carol Saunders. Bring your spiritual inquiries. What do you ponder? What is still a mystery to you? Do you want to better understand a Bible story metaphysically? Yes, we will sit in front of a crackling fire, and be in conversation together. What a great way to unwind after Christmas and to ready ourselves for the New Year.
Our band, The Grateful Living, continues its evolutionary unfoldment. In September, Maggie Mitchell - who has been a favorite guest vocalist at Abundant Life - joined the band as lead vocalist. Maggie is an amazing talent and we are grateful to have her. She can be found singing the National Anthem all over Chicagoland at sports games and special events. She is a recurring guest artist with Girl Group Chicago and other Chicago based bands. She produced a Holiday album in 2013, and co-produced and performed as lead singer for the Chicago all female cover-band, GIRLBAND.
