Hello and welcome! Abundant Life Spiritual Center is a dynamic spiritual community with a focus on awakening those who walk through our doors to the divine within and inspiring them to live confidently, passionately and powerfully. Together we learn how to Live Fearlessly and Love Outrageously because life is meant to be filled with joy and lived with ease as a positive experience, not a struggle. We named ourselves Abundant Life because we know that the Abundant Life - a life of wholeness and authentic self-expression, purpose, creativity and love - is the divine birthright of everyone and we want to support your living it.

For the next few weeks we will take a fun, interactive and more laid back approach to our summer services. Join us beginning Sunday, July 6 for our summer series on Eckhart Tolle’s book, A New Earth – Awakening to Your Life Purpose. Rev. Carol will come prepared to share her insights and create space for dialogue for those who are willing to share theirs.
“This book is about you. It will change your state of consciousness or it will be meaningless,” writes Eckhart Tolle. A New Earth was published in 2005, and selected into Oprah Winfreys’ Book Club in 2008. Bring your book on Sunday or order one after service July 6 if you wish. Or come without one at all!
July 20, 2014 marks our 200th Sunday service since we started our community in September 2010. And we're going to celebrate with a community picnic! Bring friends and family to service that day as we have a wonderful line up of musical line-up and inspiring message. The Grateful Living will be joined by guest musicians and we will be blessed with a full band sound. After service our celebration picnic will take place in the pavilion behind the Patty Turner Center from noon to 4 pm. We will have games and activities for children and adults alike. Please bring side dishes to share. Let's have some summer fun!
At Abundant Life we learn that there is nothing that separates us from God and each other. In meditation and prayer, in Sunday celebration services and sometimes at other times in our lives we experience a deep sense of peace and freedom that this truth brings. At other times we have almost no awareness of it. What happens? How do we lose that which we know is ever-present?
This four-week class will introduce you to The Work of Byron Katie, a way to discover and undo what is blocking your awareness of peace and freedom.
You will learn to identify and question the thoughts about the people and circumstances in your life that appear to disturb your peace. Learn the four questions and the turnarounds that can change your life.
We are proud of our music. What’s different about us is we use contemporary and classic pop/rock/indie music to support our spiritual themes. We capture spiritual truths through artists such as The Beatles, Coldplay, 10,000 Maniacs, The Cranberries, Pharrell Williams, Dave Matthews Band, Kelly Clarkson, Eisley, Snow Patrol, Phillip Phillips, Enya, Styx, David Bowie and countless others. Matt Nelson, who shares his delightfully positive energy and phenomenal keyboard talent with us each week, leads our band. He is well-connected into the Chicago music scene and brings to us talent such as Grammy-nominated Matthew Santos.

Prayer is a powerful and practical tool that affirms our unity with God, the unconditional loving Source of all that is. It is practical because a prayer is more than the words we think or speak. The vision and intention we hold in our minds are creative forces in our lives. As one practical example, Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, used affirmative prayer to heal herself from tuberculosis. Charles and Myrtle Fillmore founded the Unity movement in 1889 as a healing ministry based on the power of prayer and the power of our thoughts to create our own experience of reality.
Abundant Life Spiritual Center continues this healing ministry with a team of Prayer Partners. Your Prayer Partners are available to join you in affirmative prayer every Sunday.

My youngest daughter graduated from high school just a few days ago. What a bittersweet occasion. There’s a psychological threshold to cross when you become an ”empty nester” and we have just a couple months before it really becomes our new way of life. Having been inextricably linked to the public school calendar through our three daughters for 20 years, this was our last high school graduation. So the momentous occasion brought me to pause and reflect: Why is graduation so significant and how can we continue to bring that same level of meaning into our lives?
