Hello and welcome! Abundant Life Spiritual Center is a dynamic spiritual community with a focus on awakening those who walk through our doors to the divine within and inspiring them to live confidently, passionately and powerfully. Together we learn how to Live Fearlessly and Love Outrageously because life is meant to be filled with joy and lived with ease as a positive experience, not a struggle. We named ourselves Abundant Life because we know that the Abundant Life - a life of wholeness and authentic self-expression, purpose, creativity and love - is the divine birthright of everyone and we want to support your living it.
You will find yourself among like-minded people if:
So you want to live a prosperous life. We want that for you too! But what does prosperity have to do with the Ten Commandments? Just the term, “The Ten Commandments,” causes many of us to squirm. Some people feel they are antiquated, not relevant to today’s world. Others report that they feel the Ten Commandments provoke that awful feeling from childhood that God is scary.
We started a new series on Sunday, February 23 and will continue it for the next three weeks. Rev. Carol Saunders is turning The Ten Commandments on their head by presenting the spiritual truths that lie beneath and showing us how to apply them to living prosperous lives.
On Sunday, March 9 & 16, we will be holding our Sunday services at Shepard Middle School, right around the corner from the Patty Turner Center. Each year the Patty Turner Center has an event in March which takes place in our sanctuary space. We relocated last year to Shepard Middle School for two Sundays and found it to be a wonderful second venue. It is located at 440 Grove Avenue in Deerfield, IL. When you're coming to the Patty Turner Center on Elm Street, rather than taking that last left, go straight! You will find Shepard Middle School is right in front of you.
Lent, like Advent, is a time for us to be particularly mindful. Not that there is really a season for mindfulness. For those of us on the spiritual path, Mindfulness - or being present to the divine treasure of the present moment - is how we want to live every moment. And Mindfulness is one of the qualities of living the Abundant Life. Culturally though, we approach some seasons with a particular kind of mindfulness because we are preparing ourselves for a particular experience. Lent is such a time.

Come to our first annual meeting of the membership on Sunday, March 16, 2014. It will be held at the Shepard Middle School right after service. Together in consciousness we will build a thriving community and bring our next year into form. You will see our 2013 financial report and 2014 financial forecast, and you will hear what’s on the mind of the Minister and Board of Directors. We will have an opening meditation, some community brainstorming and a closing visualization experience. All members will receive a letter in the mail about this meeting. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. The meeting is expected to last an hour.
Foundations in Unity is a 6-week class that explores the foundational principles of Unity teachings while also connecting you to others in our community. It is the portal for membership, but more importantly, it is the place where you start to feel that you belong here at Abundant Life Spiritual Center. People love this class and many take it again and again.
To learn more about what people have said about the class and what topics are covered, you can read more about it here.
