Imagine, visualize and create the amazing life you want now.  In this workshop, Bonnie DeMartini will guide you through a process of vision boarding. It will be a fun, interactive and creative exercise that results in a visual depiction of your goals, hopes and dreams.  By creating your vision board, you are manifesting many things for your life.

In this three-week class you will be introduced to The Work of Byron Katie, a method of identifying and questioning the thoughts that cause stress and suffering in your life.

You will learn how to identify and question your thoughts about your partner or boss or parent or child or sibling (or anyone or else who angers, saddens, irritates or frustrates you). Learn the four questions and the turnarounds that can change your life.

Want to reconnect with the center of your being in the middle of the week? Join us at 7PM on the second Thursday of the month for a Contemplative Interfaith Service in the sanctuary of First Church of Christ Scientist, 155 Deerfield Road. This is a very powerful, deeply enriching experience.  Each month centers on a theme such as Joy, Peace, Generosity, Lovingkindness, or Forgiveness. You will hear the theme presented by sacred texts or writings of the mystics of the world's major faith traditions and supplemented by meditative music. Live music - Native American flute, singing bowls, gong and drums - is provided by Cheryl Good to complement the readings and create sacred space for reflection. Different types of Spiritual practices may also be introduced.

Our next Prayer Consciousness circle is on Saturday, March 10 at 10AM at the First Church of Christ Scientist, 155 Deerfield Rd. Deerfield, IL. Everyone is welcome to join together and lift our church and each other in prayer. You will find that this prayer time will bring you peace and a calm, centered state of mind. Please arrive at 10AM. We will begin promptly at 10:15AM and end at 11AM.

We kick off Holy Week on Sunday, April 1 with our Palm Sunday potluck luncheon. If you haven’t been to one of our potlucks, you will want to come and experience delicious food and delightful community. Breaking bread together is a very special experience and we make it meaningful and fun.

On Wednesday evening, September 7, 2011, I attended our first Contemplative Interfaith Service led by Reverend Carol Saunders.   Even before the service began, I was struck by the reverence of those entering this sacred place that was created by community members from the church. While candles alight on the altar drew the eye towards the light, it was the symbols representing the world’s faith traditions that led me to believe this was no ordinary church service. A Native American bowl, a Ganesh, a Menorah, a Bible and cross and a Buddha were placed at the altar. These symbols spoke to recognition that we are all One. We are all One in our search for meaning, all One in our desire to understand, all One in our coming together so that our spirits may be fed.

Due to scheduling conflicts at the Patty Turner Center, we will be holding our March 11 and March 19 Sunday Services in the Patty Turner Center library. This is the first room on your left as you walk into the center. We are grateful to have another lovely room in which to meet. The children will be in other rooms for these two weeks as well, and they will be welcomed as usual. Come and enjoy the ambience of the library and expansive view of the adjacent field on those Sundays. We look forward to returning to our usual space on Sunday, March 26.

We will gather together for a Spring Potluck luncheon immediately after service on Sunday, April 1. Bring family and friends and delicious food as we celebrate Palm Sunday and our growing spiritual community. Prepare yourself for delightful conversation and a short program on the vision of our church called, "Care and Connection - The Future of Abundant Life Unity"
