Unity created World Day of Prayer—the second Thursday in September—as a global effort to uplift our world in shared prayer consciousness. Since its inception 18 years ago, this sacred initiative has supported more than 15 million people with prayer. In our first year at Abundant Life Unity Church, we will be wholeheartedly participating.

Our first Contemplative Interfaith Service in the sanctuary of First Church of Christ Scientist on Wednesday, September 7, will kick off our participation in this event as we join with Unity ministries across the globe in  Unity World Day of Prayer. The theme is Together We Shine – We are channels through which Spirit illumines the world. As a congregation we will hold our own form of sacred space together for 24 hours beginning at 7PM, September 7 and concluding at 7PM on September 8. Please prayerfully consider if you are willing to hold a one-hour prayer vigil from wherever you are during this time. We still have some time slots available. You don't have to stop your daily life, but we ask that you do your best to focus on the following affimations:

We illumine the world as Love [for 10 minutes]

We illumine the world as Wisdom [for 10 minutes]

We illumine the world as Understanding [for 10 minutes]

We illumine the world as Joy [for 10 minutes]

We illumine the world as One [concluding 10 minutes]
